Hello!
It has been a while since handonthehip came into existence. To celebrate, I thought I should finally write a post on this shoot I did with Anis Sharma, a really talented photographer. When I had just started blogging, I was chubbier, I was sleep derpived and had a lot of dark circles, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. But it was about time I started something related to fashion. I am still struggling, but way better than before! My body fat percentage was as high as 42%! I zumba'd my way into losing some weight and also worked out on my core to get rid of that extra fat! Anyway, that story is for another time. I am still battling with puffy eyes and sleeping and waking up on time, hopefully that will get better. And lastly, thanks to all my well wishers and mentors, I am focused and know what my goals are!
If I had to define my style in a word or two, I'd say I like to keep it casual with some color. The look I am trying to pull off here can be flaunted anywhere - be it a casual day out to the park or a Friday night at the club or probably even to office, with a jacket. Sometimes the key is to keep it simple and have a positive attitude, the rest will fall in place.
As a birthday present to myself earlier this year, I picked up this cut-out top from Hey! I pulled out my fave pair of faded boyfriend jeans from Max, my only black pair of Steve Madden pumps and this cute backpack I picked up from Brigade Road and rocked the shoot. Hey! is available in any Central. I don't think I need to tell you guys about my love for Max! Max is my all-time favorite shopping destination!
On that note, let me sign off by quoting The King Blues, a British rock punk band and one of their tracks has the lines "Too fat, too thin, that's just the media spin. You look best when you are comfortable in your own skin." and I could not agree more!
