3 Festive Gifts That Really Bring The Romance

By Hand On The Hip - 10/01/2018

Regardless of faith, regardless of cultural background, Christmas is the time for giving. It’s also a time for love and togetherness. It’s a time when, regardless of faith, we get to come together and give the ones we love the care and attention that we’re often too busy or distracted to give them. While love is not something that can be measured in material terms, it’s still on us to give gifts that really bring the romance. By all means treat them to the shoes that you’ve seen them lust after in the store windows or the games console that they’ve often longed for but never been able to afford. But for a truly special Christmas present that you’ll both remember forever, it’s nice to give a gift that brings a little extra romance. Whether it’s your first festive season together or you’ve already shared dozens of Christmases together, the holiday season is the perfect time to show your significant other that you can still surprise them with the most romantic of gifts…
A shared experience
In decades to come, when you look back over your relationship and the time you’ve spent together, will you remember the material possessions and objects? Possibly. But will you remember the times you’ve had and the experiences you’ve shared more? Absolutely! While it might not look quite so impressive under a tree, a voucher for dance classes, tickets to a mini-break or the flier for a spa trip can be the perfect gift that will not only see their eyes light up as they sit with you under the Christmas tree, it will provide the perfect opportunity to make a new memory together.
Open letters
While you may enjoy some special times together over the holiday season, you know that the good times must be tempered by the bad times. Nobody lives in a state of perpetual bliss 365 days a year. Your partner may well face days when he or she feels bad about themselves, lacks confidence, feels worthless, is frustrated at work, gets turned down for a promotion or generally feels down in the dumps.

What could be romantic than writing a letter for every such occasion, putting it in a brightly colored envelope and marking it “For when you’re feeling down”, “For when you need to know how much I love you” or “For when you need to feel good about yourself”.
It may take a while to write them all, but it’s a gift they will always treasure.
A memory mold
What could be more special than something that puts a smile on your partner’s face every time they see it? A memory mold can be a great way to help your partner to gain some perspective on your relationship and how far it’s come. A memory mold is a perfect reminder of this. It can be turned into a home decoration or simply kept in a box to be brought out at a time when they need to see it most. Some choose to make memory molds of the keys to the first house or apartment they shared. Others may make molds of their children’s hands or feet. If you can make an impression with it, it can bring back a memory!
Romance will always be the ultimate Christmas gift.
