Anyone can turn into a bit of a monster in stressful situations. That snappy, irritable, and
short-tempered witch can show herself during any day of the week really and, while it’s easy enough
to get like that when trying to juggle both dinner, laundry, and naggy children at the same time, it’s no
wonder we get like that when preparing for our wedding.

There is so much to do, so many expectations, and so many people to attend to when, in reality, the
big day and the months leading up to it should be all about you and your partner. Luckily, there are
ways to prepare for a big wedding while still having fun together and avoid letting the stress get the
better of you.
Here is a handful of great and relaxing ways to have fun while getting through the preparations for the
big day so that you can look a bit more forward to the rest of your life together - without any snappy or
irritable moods.
First: Do the preparations together
Back in the days, the bride and the groom wouldn’t be caught dead in a hand-me-down outfit and
wedding decorations that were made by family members. Today, on the other hand, it’s rather trendy
and even great for the environment so try to make a lot of the decorations and invitations yourself as a
couple.
While it’s both a cost-effective and ethical way of preparing for your wedding, it’s also a cosy activity
you can enjoy together. Don’t let it become another chore you have to get out of the way, though, as
this kind of beats the purpose of enjoying each other’s company and trying to focus on the romantic
parts of the wedding.
Getting married and swearing your love in front of everyone is, after all, supposed to be rather
romantic, when you think about it. Do as much as you’re able to do together without allowing it to
become just another stress factor; you might find that you actually enjoy the arts and crafts session.
Next: Focus on him a bit too
Monster brides are known for one thing and one thing only: the wedding is their big day and everything
needs to be just the way they want it to be. It’s quite selfish, though, and any self-absorbed bride will
get both snappy and irritated if something doesn’t go according to her plan.
While you’re probably far from being that kind of bride, it’s still way too easy to fall into the trap of
wanting your dreams to be a reality at all times. Let your shoulders down a bit and focus on making
the day great for him too; that way, you’re doing it out of the kindness of your heart and will definitely
be the bride of his dreams rather than a monster bride.
Start by checking out these custom wedding bands, for example, and proceed by going on a spa day
together or just an outing of his choice. Try to make him feel special and shift the focus away from
seeing this as your big day. It is your big day, however, but yours as a couple - and not just as a bride.
Successfully pulling off a stress-free wedding means that you need to have fun and allow things to be
out of your control. It is just one day, after all, but your relationship is supposed to be forever.
