Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right!

12/29/2016 0 Comments
Hello boys and girls!

Only a couple of days away from 2017 and don't we all have the same question we had last week? WHAT DO I WEAR? Well, well, well, this New Year's is very special to me! And I have to look amazing! :D But I am already spending a bomb on my flight tickets and party passes! Thanks to Zapyle, I could get my hands on some spectacular designer wear in seconds!

Rocky S was a brand that I had always watched on fashion shows on television and had no idea I could even get easy access to it, leave alone the affordability. But because of Zapyle, I could not only pick up my dream dress but also wear it with style with a pair of gorgeous Jimmy Choo wedges and a studded black bag from Michael Kors.

The best part about Zapyle is you can own luxury fashion without burning a hole in your pockets! What I like best about this dress is the shimmer and how it's so comfy, yet makes me look sexy! :)

So what are you waiting for? Zappy new year! Hahaha!

Out with the old, in with the bold!

Hi guys!

Why do we, as humans, always worry about what others think? Why is it so important for us to please other people? Why do we depend on other people or things for happiness when we need to just find it within ourselves? Well, I say f*** what others think and do your own thing!

I understand the need to satisfy everyone and ensure that the people around you are constantly pleased with you, but is this really what you were sent to the world for? Everyone is special and everyone should explore what he or she can do and is capable of. Are you bold enough to experiment with your life? Are you a risk taker?

When Shivani, a friend, a fellow blogger and a fashion icon in the current times, presented this idea of collaborating for a black and white photoshoot, I was thoroughly confused! I have a ton of black and white clothes, but how do I portray my style? How do I showcase experimental, re-usable, affordable, sustainable fashion with whatever I own? And that's when I decided to team up my striped dress from Atmosphere with this high waist suede shorts, some suede gladiators and I had to give this a bold look with a choker and some red lipstick!

I gave my skater dress a whole new look just like that! Sometimes, all it takes is a little bit of patience and some creativity and you can re-create your whole life! This is just the beginning!

Falalala with Flyrobe!

Ho ho ho!

Merry Christmas, everyone! I know I am a few days early, but the excitement is kicking in! After playing a fun round of Secret Santa, munching some delicious cake and drinking some homemade wine in office, I am super excited for this beautiful festive season. And what's even more amazing is that it is that time of the year when you have a lot of visitors from all over the world. The month has been and is going to be crazy busy, at least for me!

Have you guys decided your outfits yet? I have been giving you guys a lot of options all month! But what do you wear to work? I decided to check out what Flyrobe has to offer and picked out the perfect outfit I wore to work. Snow man, gingerbread man and snowflakes! I don't think there is anything one could wear that is more Christmasy! I wanted some more red in my outfit, so I picked up my Tory Burch bag and went easy on the footwear with these dull gray pumps.

Christmas, as we all know, is all about spreading joy and cheer. I urge each and every one of you to turn that frown upside down, wear bright colorful outfits and bring some smiles on the faces of your loved ones. I do hope to tell you all about my Christmas this year, so do stay tuned!

And on that note, 'tis the season to be jolly! Fa la la la la, la la la la!

Lush in lace

12/11/2016 1 Comments
Hi there!

This week has been pretty gloomy for me. There has been a lot going on and at the same time, no progress. Well, we all have our highs and lows. Ups and downs are a part of life. We all need that one thing that will keep our mind off things that don't go well. For me, my blog is one such thing. During the weekends, shoots and events keeps me preoccupied and I spend most of my weekdays trying to promote my blog. So you need to find your passion and follow it like a puppy would follow his master.

I had collaborated with LibeRent almost a year ago and shot this for them. I picked up this lace tube dress from Zara, threw in my black Steve Madden pumps and my red Tory Burch handbag and a delicate pearl necklace and was ready to sizzle. This look is rather formal and you can wear this to a formal dinner or a Christmas party.

And to all of you feeling blue, do not worry! Things are going to get better. What's in store for me? Lots of new collabs coming up! So stay tuned! Enjoy!

A casual affair

12/08/2016 1 Comments

It has been a while since handonthehip came into existence. To celebrate, I thought I should finally write a post on this shoot I did with Anis Sharma, a really talented photographer. When I had just started blogging, I was chubbier, I was sleep derpived and had a lot of dark circles, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. But it was about time I started something related to fashion. I am still struggling, but way better than before! My body fat percentage was as high as 42%! I zumba'd my way into losing some weight and also worked out on my core to get rid of that extra fat! Anyway, that story is for another time. I am still battling with puffy eyes and sleeping and waking up on time, hopefully that will get better. And lastly, thanks to all my well wishers and mentors, I am focused and know what my goals are!

If I had to define my style in a word or two, I'd say I like to keep it casual with some color. The look I am trying to pull off here can be flaunted anywhere - be it a casual day out to the park or a Friday night at the club or probably even to office, with a jacket. Sometimes the key is to keep it simple and have a positive attitude, the rest will fall in place.

As a birthday present to myself earlier this year, I picked up this cut-out top from Hey! I pulled out my fave pair of faded boyfriend jeans from Max, my only black pair of Steve Madden pumps and this cute backpack I picked up from Brigade Road and rocked the shoot. Hey! is available in any Central. I don't think I need to tell you guys about my love for Max! Max is my all-time favorite shopping destination!

On that note, let me sign off by quoting The King Blues, a British rock punk band and one of their tracks has the lines "Too fat, too thin, that's just the media spin. You look best when you are comfortable in your own skin." and I could not agree more!

Hope you like the pictures!

Have a fabulous day!
