Dye hard!

2/28/2017 0 Comments
Hi guys!

What is your take on jazzing up your hair a bit? Do you think it's a complete waste of time and money? Or do you think change is good? Well, I am the kind of person who hates monotony. I like constant changes in my life. When it comes to hair care, I am an absolute dud. I have always been skeptical about going to a parlor and getting my hair dyed. But for some strange reason, I wanted ombre hair and landed in YLG salon one Tuesday evening.

For those of you who don't know what ombre means, it's basically a French word for shading. The hair at the roots are darker and as it goes towards the tip, the shade gets lighter. The hair expert used INOA Supreme on my thin, damaged medium length hair and the procedure took about 70-90 minutes. Unfortunately, I do not remember the exact shade, but it was something in blonde. I wanted red initially, but blonde seemed more tempting.

I spent about 2800 bucks with shampoo and blow drying and also got a coupon worth 1250 INR! Yay! I cannot wait to go back and get pampered again! I cannot even tell you how many compliments I happened to receive the following day for my new hairdo!

I suck at hair care! I do! I absolutely do! I don't even know why I need to use a conditioner. But there was a 25% off on 2 products at YLG and the salon expert recommended 2 products - L'Oréal Professional Hair Spa Detoxifying Shampoo and Conditioner. It has tea tree oil that nourishes your scalp and is perfect for oily hair. I got them for 600 bucks instead of 800. I have been using these products for a week now and they cause the least amount of damage to my hair as compared to a lot of other shampoos I have been using.

So for those of you who need a change, don't wait for others to give you approval. If you want it, go get it!

Tell me your dreams

2/20/2017 0 Comments
Hi guys!

As it's Monday today and Mondays are always manic, I thought of linking you guys to Zaful again so that you could pick out some work clothes! I like my job, but I dislike Mondays. Today is a special day at work for me since I have an important client meeting and I need to be presentable. So what should I wear? Formal trousers and a crisp shirt? An embroidered kurta with some colorful patialas? Or just denims?

I thought I shall wear this full sleeved crop top I got from Zaful. You must be wondering if I am crazy to wear a crop top to work! Well, the good news is, this crop top can be worn on top of a spaghetti top and the color contrast simply turned out to be perfect! For those of you who are afraid to show some skin, sneak in a slip inside that crop top and you are good to go! I matched it with a pair of black treggings and these gray block heels I got from Zaful. Aren't they perfect?

When you dress well, you automatically get the confidence to conquer the world. Don't be afraid to dream and work towards it. Always remember to work hard, be kind and stay humble.

Kiss them Monday blues goodbye with some fab things from Zaful!

Be my Valentine (ft. Zapyle)

2/14/2017 0 Comments
Hey everyone!

Happy Valentines' Day! <3 Although, one does not need a day to celebrate love, if you are planning to be a tad bit cheesy this Valentines', then I have some budget friendly gift ideas for you! But I thought I should also talk about this shoot I did for Zapyle, a luxury fashion portal that helps you buy the most exclusive and ecstatic things for a reasonable price. Let's get started, shall we?

1. Custom-made goodies
It could be a calendar with all your favorite pictures together, couple mugs with your pictures or even something as simple as a photo imprinted on a tile, custom-made stuff are the coolest things to buy these days!

2. DIY-ing all the love
For all you men out there - women absolutely love it when you DIY something for them! You can some cute art work with all the stuff that he/she likes or moments spent together or if you think you are not artistic enough, a simple love letter straight from the heart could work wonders!

3. Luxury fashion
Has your beau ever wanted a sexy Louis Vuitton bag, but you haven't had the moolah for it? Well, you should definitely check out what Zapyle has to offer! You can get luxury fashion items for less than half the original price!

4. Food for the soul
Have you ever tried cooking for your loved ones? Well, it's now time to put your cooking skills to test! Some sautéed veggies and mushrooms, creamy soup and some ravioli, chocolate mousse with a bottle of Jacob's Creek rose wine, candles and rose petals and you're good to go!

5. Spa-ce out
After spending the entire week working and traveling, I am sure your special someone would love some aromatic massage. Why not convert your bedroom to a spa? You could get some massage oils and creams, some bath salts and candles and give him or her a soothing massage at home!

So I hope you liked some of the ideas I have suggested. Since red is the color of love, I decided to wear this red knit dress by Michelle Salins which is super comfy and the bell sleeves makes it look so chic. The white bag from Burberry adds perfect contrast to the outfit and I picked a pair of white and brown wedges from Louis Vuitton to complete the look.

Have a great time with your loved ones! Cheers!

So fly like a G6

2/09/2017 0 Comments
Hello my lovelies!

A couple of months ago, it was my last day at work and I knew I had to wear something nice for my farewell party. Since I did not want to go a bit overboard with my outfit and keep things casual, I decided to hunt for my farewell outfit on Flyrobe. It's just one party! Why buy when I can rent?

This cute dress with birds all over it caught my attention. The sleeves are long enough for me to not worry if my hands are waxed or not and the print is absolutely fresh and something that no one else would wear. I wore it with a pair of black leggings during the day and got dressy at night!

Since I am a bit too laid back in the accessories department, I wore this long chain with a fish pendant and I completed the outfit with my favorite pair of shoes I picked up from Street Style Store.

But the best part of the day was that I met a long lost friend! This amazingly talented woman whose firm goes by the name Purni Photography happened to be my photographer for the shoot! It was a lot of fun to run into someone I last met more than a decade ago. Do check out her page! And also stay tuned, because we have been collaborating day in and day out ever since.

Sometimes life has its own way of surprising you! :) So keep smiling and I shall see you soon! Until then, sayonara!

Accessorize away!

2/08/2017 0 Comments
Hello peeps!

Don’t ask a woman how many pairs of earrings she owns. You will end up listening to her endless stories. She would have a closet full of earrings and pendants and yet, she would have nothing to wear. This really does happen! But isn’t that how you measure your fashion quotient?

Did you know that your face shape and complexion play a major role when it comes to wearing the right kind of earrings or pendants? Yes, they do and here, IndiaRush has put together some pieces that might complement your face cut.
Oval Face

You have the perfect face cut for a woman who is an avid shopper of earrings and pendants because any type of jewelry will suit someone with an oval face. However, you can create magic wearing stud earrings, danglers or earrings with patterns spread across to add some contrast to the shape of the earrings. You can also opt for choker pendants.
Round Face

How about a little bit of contour to show off on your cheek bones?  Then you can create an illusion of elongating your faces by choosing teardrop or any type of thread like hanging earrings. They are sleek and long and will definitely provide an angular precision to your face. You can wear a medium length chain with a long pendant that will make you look taller.

Heart-Shaped Face

Heart-shaped faces have the advantage of an angular jaw line. Do make sure you choose similar type of earrings which are long and of abstract shapes with angles. An elongated pendant set will surely highlight your pretty cheek bones, jaw line and chin. Go with large chandelier earrings and diamond pendants to rock the event. This collection of jewelry will bring instant enhancement to your facial charm and features. Are you ready?
Square Face

Square faces have rounded cheekbones and give you a softer look at those angles. The cheekbones and jaw line are somewhat straight and showcase the best contour. Enhance your beauty with oversized hoops, tear drop earrings and broad ending earrings. Add some extra drama with sleek necklaces or pendants which have thread-like chain and pendant too.

Narrow/ Rectangular Face

Rectangular face looks great on taller figures and you can highlight your best features by selecting chandelier earrings, pearl earrings and any kind of long stone studded earrings. Tear drop online pendant set will be your lucky pick.
Diamond-Shaped Face

The forehead and cheek spaces are comparatively narrower than the other parts of the face. Hoop earrings, haggis, danglers and drop earrings will look amazing on this face type. Women with diamond face shapes can opt for medium length pendants which will fall on their chest range. To accentuate better, know your complexion and if you wish to have colorful jewelry in your collection follow these simple rules:
1. Pastel or coral colors will look ecstatic on dusky skin
2. Pearls are a great way enhance dark complexion
3. Bright stone jewelry are the right fit for fairer skin
So, what are you waiting for? Go get yourself the right pair of accessories now!
