5 Things You Must Do When You Travel to Australia

By Hand On The Hip - 2/28/2018

Australia is a vast country with many stunning sites and attractions for visitors. However, there are some that should not be missed if you travel to this wonderful land.

Perth

Perth is the most isolated city in the world, although it is the fourth most populated. Situated in the state Western Australia, the Swan River runs through it. Kings Park in the centre of the city gives views of the city you would only otherwise see from tall buildings, of which there are plenty. It is a business centre for the whole of the state and has many diverse industries and professions based there.  Tourism plays an important part in its economy, with nearly 3 million visitors making the trip every year. They go to see Perth Cultural Centre, Perth Mint and Perth Prison among the many other attractions the city has to offer.

Beaches

Australia has more than 10,600 beaches and water sports are extremely popular.
Surfaris are a great way to experience surfing in some of the clearest and bluest waters around. If you want to learn to dive, there are diving schools in many places around the coast.

If you just want to lie in the sun and relax, that is fine too. The sands are warm and soft but you must remember to use a good suntan lotion to protect your skin.

Ayers Rock

Located in the Northern Territory, Ayres Rock is the largest single rock in the world. You can walk around the base of the rock, or stop and admire it from the Ayres Rock Resort. Climbing the rock is not prohibited, but is generally frowned upon by the locals who consider it to be sacred.

The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral system in the world, being composed of more than 2,900 reefs and 900 islands. It stretches for over 2,300 kilometres and is considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World. This huge structure is made from living organisms and can be seen from outer space. Its clear blue waters make it a large tourist attraction, especially for scuba divers.

Ride A Camel In The Outback

People do not usually associate camels with Australian travel, but there is a large population of them. You can enjoy trips into the outback while riding one of the magnificent creatures, and it will be an experience never to be forgotten.

Many Other Things To See And Do

There are many other things to see and do in Australia. It has more than 8,000 islands around it, famous places such as the Sydney Opera House, and not so well known venues like the Lone Pine Sanctuary for kangaroos. You can learn how to make a goon hat or play the didgeridoo. The choice of cuisine is huge and varied, and you will always find something delicious to eat. Nightlife is there if you want to party or have a romantic meal for two. Australia caters for everyone and it is a country that is well worth visiting.
